How to manually add a card without scanning

Add cards to your collection by searching instead of scanning

You don't need to scan every card. You can search Cubbby's card catalog and add cards manually at any time.

How to add manually

  1. Tap + Add Cards from your inventory or dashboard
  2. Select Search instead of scanning
  3. Type the player name, year, or set name
  4. Browse the results and select the correct card
  5. Set the grade, purchase price, and binder (optional)
  6. Tap Save

Search tips

  • Be specific. "2023 Topps Chrome Aaron Judge" will give better results than just "Judge"
  • Include the year. Helps narrow results, especially for players with cards across many years
  • Try the card number. If you know it, searching "#87" along with the set name can find exact matches
  • Use set names. "Prizm", "Chrome", "Select" helps filter to the right product

When to add manually

Manual adding is useful when:

  • Cards are difficult to scan (very old, damaged, or in thick protective cases)
  • You own cards but don't have them with you right now
  • You're building out your collection list before physically scanning each card
  • The AI scan returned results but you can't find the exact match

Uploading a card image

After adding a card manually, you can upload a photo of your specific card from the card detail page. This is optional but helps you visually identify cards in your collection.

Does manual adding use a scan?

No. Manually searching and adding a card does not use one of your scan credits. Scans are only used when you use the camera to photograph a card.
